I imagine I will always be a ‘seeker’ in regards to my work. ‘Change’ is as important as air to me and is a crucial component of my nature. Rarely satisfied, I find myself constantly experimenting, reinventing myself with new medium, trying new ways of doing and looking at things, always pushing myself to evolve as a visual artist.
I have been told my greatest strengths lie in my strong sense of design and my drawing skills which translate best in my portraiture work. While I am most fond of my animal commissions, particularly dogs, I also enjoy the challenge of drawing and painting people. I love getting into my subjects heads through their expressive eyes. If you capture the eyes you’ve captured the essence, the spirit of the person, or dog or horse!
Recently I have expanded my artistic creations into mixed media. I thoroughly enjoy sitting down at my desk and using vintage die cuts, found objects, tiles, stamps and creating textures with a multitude of tools. The possibilities are endless and I enjoy every step of the process.
I suspect I might never be ‘truly’ satisfied with my work... perhaps that’s a good thing!
